You know the expression “building the plane while you’re flying it?” Cool, cool, cool. That’s absolutely what’s happening here on this blog. And if we’re honest, it’s how life is too. At least for me. Maybe you have all your ducks in a row, but I’m a human in the first half – hopefully third – of my life who is deeply traumatized by the dissonance between my fantasies of being a grown up and the harrowing reality. My comprehension of adulthood pretty much capped out at always having money for whatever I wanted like my mom always seemed to, staying up as late as I wanted, and doing whatever I wanted to do. Anyone who has ever walked even one step into the hood of adulting knows that the awakening I’m experiencing is rude. Deeply rude.
